Privacy Notice for Participants of Public Events

PURPOSE OF THE NOTICE

This document is published on the OIV website www.oiv.hr with the purpose of informing participants of public events organized by OIV, whose personal data we process, about certain elements of processing and the manner of exercising their rights to give or withdraw consent, the right to access, correction, deletion, the right to restrict processing, data portability, and the right not to be subject to automated processing, including profiling. By doing so, we respect the principle of transparency as a fundamental principle of the General Data Protection Regulation.

PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT

At its public events, OIV collects and processes personal data of participants related to identification data, contact data, and photographs and recordings of participants.

PURPOSE AND LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA

Personal data of participants are processed for the purpose of promotion, organization, feedback on the results of public events, and preservation of documentary material created by OIV's activities. The legal basis for processing personal data of participants is:

  • Legitimate interest based on which OIV:
    • Records and photographs participants of public events
    • Publishes recordings and photographs on OIV's website, social media, media releases, and printed materials related to OIV's work
    • Collects and processes identification and contact data that participants enter in registration forms
  • Fulfillment of OIV's legal obligations based on which OIV:
    • Collection and processing of identification and contact data of participants of public events in accordance with the obligations under which such public events are planned.
    • Keeps documentation on the organization of the public event and the list of participants, photographs, and recordings from public events that represent documentary material created by OIV's work in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. Collected personal data will not be used for other purposes.

  • The right to access personal information
  • The right to correct personal data
  • The right to deletion
  • Exceptions related to the exercise of this right are provided in Article 17, paragraph 3 of the General Data Protection Regulation
  • The right to restrict the processing of personal data
  • The right to object.

RETENTION PERIOD OF PERSONAL DATA

We process your personal data until the purpose for which they were collected is fulfilled. After the purpose is fulfilled, we no longer use your personal data, and they remain in our storage system and are kept in accordance with laws and regulations.
